The MJ-872 completes the Magicshine range perfectly. The MJ-808 and MJ-808E offer top-end performance at a budget price. The MJ-816 offers wide angle lateral vision and now, the brand new MJ-872 offers eye blistering power.    

This amazing beam power comes from a single light head, using  four Cree XP-G LEDs. The compact dimensions make this the lamp of choice for your helmet or the bars, using the tried and tested 'O' ring system to secure the light head in less than 60 seconds. The variable power modes allow you to make your choice of power and conserve battery power if required.  The 2 buttons to the rear of the head allow you to increase or reduce the power level and they contain coloured LEDs to warn of an impending loss of power. The 'get you home mode' can then be selected to ensure you reach your destination safely.

 

Battery Choice

 

We've teamed up with top German battery manufacturer, Open-Light Systems to give you a choice of battery. We know that many of you will still see the Magicshine standard battery as great value. However we also recognise that many customers are willing to pay a premium for a battery thats of higher quality, 100% waterproof, even safer and lasts longer.

     

Open Light Systems

 

We are now preferred distributor for Open-Light Systems, a German company which works with the best battery cell company on the market, Panasonic. They have developed their own PCB (Protecttive Circuit Board) to protect against over charge discharge, short circuiting, incorrect charging as well as polarity reversal. In short this is a quality battery that won't let you down and in fact it's used as standard on our premium light brand, MyTinySun. The batteries we supply are all Magicshine compatible with a Magicshine type connection and they can all be used with the orginal chargers. During production, every battery is checked several times to ensure it is fully charged, 100% waterproof and 100% safe - as you would expect.

     

Open-Light Test Procedures

 

• Altitude simulation - simulates air transport in real conditions.  
• Thermal Test - Assesses if the battery can operate in extreme thermal conditions over long periods.  
• Vibration Test - after all, you ride your bike in the toughest of conditions.  
• Shock Test - Just in case...!
• Short Circuit Test - simulates short circuits.  
• Impact Test - Tests for safety in the event of impact.  
• Overcharge/Overload Testing - Tests the ability of a battery to withstand overload conditions.
• Forced Discharge Test - The ability to withstand a foced discharge.  
• EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) - After all, you don't want your battery to affect your bike computer, heart rate monitor etc. Needless to say, Open-Light Systems batteries had 100% pass rate on all products. Thats why we chose them!

Got this last week with the 4.5Ah open light battery. Was really impressed with the power on the trail. Did a direction comparison with a Hope Vision 4 and I couldn't see the difference. The light is well made and both lamp and battery are extremely light. The light quality was superb: bright, long range, great ground definition and no dimming as the battery ran down. Brilliant light for the money. I went for my first night ride last night using the MJ-872 and was gobsmacked by the amount of light it gives out. Its not only bright but far reaching as well!! Quality of both the light and battery is spot on also, everything fits together nicely and feels solid.
